Hearing Testing
For some time a universally adopted battery of hearing tests has been in use. We start by looking in your ears and then proceed with eardrum compliance checks and a full battery of standardized hearing testing. Even if you only have a slight difficulty hearing, the test and resulting education can be quite informative. We test Speech-in-Noise ability and this informs hearing aid selection with clues as to the person's expected performance in social settings with background noise.
Hearing Aids
We fit, repair and adjust all major models of hearing aids including Phonak, Unitron, Bernafon, Oticon, ReSound, Widex, Signia and Starkey. We also service, adjust and replace Ponto 5 Mini bone anchored hearing systems for abutment wearers.

Personal Lifestyle Amplifiers
From amplified telephones to wireless TV headphones, we have a pretty long list of personal devices that can help people hear around the home and in the community without the need for hearing aids. Pocket Talkers, alarm clocks and hearing aid accessories are stocked in this clinic.
What should I expect?...
Book a hearing test.
Give us a call or send us a booking request and we'll call you. The first appointment is free, and you will have a complete ear examination and hearing ability assessment. Expect to be in the clinic for about an hour. Adam will run a battery of internationally used tests to determine hearing acuity and speech processing, and then take the time to explain your results as well as answer any of your questions.
Aural Rehabilitation
Understanding hearing loss and tinnitus can be a powerful relieving factor. We have a number of free handouts which educate on matters related to hearing, the effects aging has on our ears, and tinnitus treatment modalities.

While hearing aids are the most important aspect of aural rehabilitation, there are additional steps that could be done to ensure a person gets the most benefit from a hearing aid purchase. These layered counseling and education steps often involve a combination of traditional hearing aids with learning speech-reading and new listening strategies, and receiving counseling and support for smoother communication. The overall goal is to reduce the negative impact of hearing loss on daily life and improve a person's overall life quality through better communication.

Should you opt to give hearing aids a try, Adam will guide you through a month trial of any modern digital hearing device on the market. We fit all major brands of European hearing aids, and accessories such as Bluetooth television streamers and remote microphones. Tinnitus sound therapy is available in our hearing aid programs, as well as tinnitus education and room-level tinnitus maskers.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know what my ears look like, inside?
Video otoscopy is a process where patients can see inside their own ears while a camera is inserted down the ear canal. We offer this in clinic. This service is free for patients wearing hearing aids, and costs $49 for non-hearing aid wearers.
Can I get my ears cleaned in this clinic?
Our clinician is certified by the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC to perform cerumen management. We offer an ear-flushing service free for patients with hearing aid warranties in place. For non-hearing aid wearing clients this "cerumen management" service costs $149. Our local health authority also covers cerumen management performed at your primary care physician's office.
Do you make custom ear protection?
Yes, we make multiple kinds of specialty hearing protection for many applications. Some common ear plugs we've made include swimmers plugs, sleeper plugs, construction plugs, musician plugs, and in-ear monitor impressions. Some of our earplugs allow for speech to be heard while suppressing really loud noise. If you have an in-ear monitor manufacturer that you want to buy custom earplugs from, we also provide impressions you can take to a manufacturer of your choosing.
